[] CLEAR Concierage: What Is It?

Key takeaways:
- You must first enroll in CLEAR Plus to use CLEAR Concierage.
- Two options are offered: Express and Gate Service.
- The options cost $99 and $179 per use, respectively.
As more than 20,000,000 US travelers now have TSA PreCheck®, people aren't getting through airport security as quickly as they did in the past. Myself included.
CLEAR, a biometrics company stationed in over 50 US airports, has introduced a solution where you can pay to get through security quicker: CLEAR Concierage.
Below are details about CLEAR, if you're unfamiliar with them, and how this new Concierage service works:
What is CLEAR Concierage?
To bypass the gradually longer TSA PreCheck® lines, one solution for experienced travelers is to pay their way out. This is where CLEAR Concierage comes in.
CLEAR Concierage has two options: Express and Gate Service.
To use either service, you must first enroll in CLEAR Plus.
Express is where a CLEAR team member will meet you curbside at the airport and speeds you through the CLEAR Plus lane. This service is $99 per use.
Gate Service is basically Express plus the CLEAR member assisting you with check-in, bags, giving directions to your gate, and even guiding you to the gate, if need be. This service is $179 per use. Almost the cost of an annual CLEAR Plus membership.
I used Express in summer 2025 once at Detroit Metro Airport.
If the CLEAR and/or CLEAR + TSA PreCheck® line has others waiting, you get to bypass them. It felt like travel before 2024, where I consistently got through airport security in under two minutes, especially at larger international airports.
Personally, I think Gate Service is a waste of time for anyone who frequently travels. If you need that level of assistance at an airport, you shouldn't be traveling in the first place. Stay home and stop delaying other people who know what they're doing.

Overview of CLEAR Plus
Even before CLEAR began offering their Concierage service, CLEAR existed as an option for savvy travelers to get through security even quicker by paying extra.
My experience with CLEAR Plus has been positive. Still is. I've had it since 2021. Even when I fly on busy days and times, I get through security far quicker than the normal line. Usually under two to three minutes.
Unlike TSA PreCheck®, where you have to wait for approval even after you pay the membership fee, with CLEAR, you can begin using the service immediately after payment and activation.
This is due to CLEAR being a private company whereas PreCheck® is offered by the US government.
CLEAR Plus is $189 and renews annually. Some business or more exclusive credit cards offer CLEAR Plus membership either discounted or for free.
CLEAR Plus is not a competitor to TSA PreCheck®. The services are optimal when paired together.
Final thoughts on the service
Just like how I don't fly first class on every flight, I wouldn't use Clear Concierge Express for every flight either. But are both a nice way to treat yourself? Absolutely!
For the foreseeable future, I feel making some travelers pay more will help congestion at larger airports like Minneapolis-Saint Paul and Detroit Metro. It'll be great when Atlanta International gets this too!
